What is a fresh 48?

A fresh 48 session captures your baby's very first hours or days of life, typically photographed where you gave birth, within the first 24 to 48 hours after birth. Babies change so quickly in those early days, and this session is all about preserving that brand-new, just-arrived look before it's gone.

Unlike a studio newborn session at home a few weeks later, a fresh 48 happens right where your baby was born. These are not posed photos, they are documentary-style, capturing all the love, tenderness, and beauty of those first days. We will take photos of your baby in their bassinet, of you, your partner, older siblings, and other family with baby, all their little features, nursing/feeding your baby, skin-to-skin, and more. These sessions last about an hour.
