“Maggie is a remarkable human being and Doula! With my planned C-section, I wasn’t sure how a doula would be able to support my experience. Before my son’s birth she provided a whole binder full of helpful resources and an easy template for creating a birthing plan. At the hospital before my surgery she was a wonderful advocate and made sure all my providers were on the same page. Her calming presence, along with the grounding exercises she lead, helped me go into my birth in the right headspace. In the post-op room she was there to help my baby boy get a good latch right away. Breastfeeding has been such a positive experience and I have Maggie to thank for that! I always looked forward to her visits as she is a true baby whisperer. Maggie was super supportive with tasks like nail trimming, pumping, bottle feeding, bathing, and holding the baby so I could tend to myself. I can’t recommend her highly enough!”

“Maggie was incredible. I had a lot of anxiety leading up to my birth, and Maggie was available to talk me through my concerns. My vision was to have an unmedicated natural birth, and I knew that would be really taxing on my husband as the sole support person. When we got Maggie signed on to work with us, I was happy to know both my husband and I would have more support before, during, and after labor. My birth was extremely intense and more painful than I ever would have imagined. The position of the baby made everything much more difficult. After hours of labor at home and in the hospital, I felt defeated and ready to change my birth plan. When Maggie showed up, her calm presence and reassurance helped me push through without medication. She provided counter pressure for every single contraction and must have been exhausted! At the end of labor, complications arose, and she helped me remain as calm as possible. Although everything didn’t go as planned, she helped me accept that my birth was still beautiful. Words can’t describe how lucky we felt that Maggie was our post partum doula. She came into our family unit at a time our baby was dealing with colic along with feeding and temperament issues. We were first time parents and had no family nearby which meant no help and very little education outside of doctor / random expert recommendations and online forums that were often more confusing than helpful. Then Maggie came in with all her knowledge and calmly attuned to what our daughter’s (and our) needs were. She rebuilt our confidence and helped us be there for our daughter by better understanding her particular cues, nuances, and needs (and also when to try to pause and do less). Now at 6 months we miss Maggie a lot but her legacy still lives on - not only by helping us be better parents - but through persistence she helped our daughter finally like taking her pacifier and being in a carrier (which she protested loudly the first 4 months). We are beyond grateful and feel anyone else would be so lucky to have Maggie as their doula!
