Doula and Childbirth Educator
Based in Sonoma County, California
My name is Magdalena, I am a birth and postpartum doula and childbirth educator serving Sonoma and Marin Counties. My inspiration for this path began after witnessing birth at a young age and knowing that supporting people through this profound time in their lives is my purpose.
I see my role as a doula as offering evidence-based information, sharing your options, and helping you connect with your intuition so you can make the choices that feel right for you and your family. I have attended over 40 births, including planned and unplanned cesareans, home births, unmedicated hospital births, epidural births, VBACs, twins, and more. What witnessing birth has taught me is that there is no single right way to give birth, only the way that is right for you and your baby.
Birth is unlike any other event in life. It can unfold just as you hoped, and it can also be hard, intense, and challenge you to make unexpected choices. It may be natural, physiologic and require little or no assistance to keep you and your baby well, or it may necessitate intervention to ensure safety. I have witnessed people have deeply positive births in every setting, even when birth looked wildly different than they imagined. What matters most is that you feel, and are, safe, that your voice is heard and respected, and that you are empowered with accurate information and supported in making intuitive choices.
I seek to meet individuals and families where they are and support them in having a safe and deeply satisfying birth experience, whatever that means for you.
Kind words from families I have supported…
