What is Body Ready Method®?

Body Ready Method® (BRM®) is a science-backed, movement-based approach to pregnancy and postpartum that helps you feel strong, resilient, and prepared through every stage of childbearing. Our work together focuses on understanding your body’s unique compensation patterns, learning how to move and lift safely during pregnancy, restoring balance with movements selected specifically for you, and supporting optimal recovery postpartum.

Overall alignment in the body’s tissues (from right to left and front to back) plays a tremendous role in supporting a strong, pain-free pregnancy. When the body is balanced and moving well, labor can be more efficient, recovery can be smoother, and postpartum healing is often easier.

When you commit to practice and intention with preparing your body for birth using BRM®, you are more likely to:

  • Feel good in your pregnancy

  • Have a spontaneous labor

Body Ready Method® aims to prepare the body from an individual perspective, addressing your history. Trauma, injury, and daily movement patterns all play a role in how we birth. With BRM® you are less likely to:

  • Have pain in pregnancy

  • Have baby be in a suboptimal position (breech, transverse, occiput posterior)

  • Need augmentation in labor

  • Have a cesarean for a stalled labor or arrest of descent

  • Have a long labor with stalls

  • Have a long pushing stage

I cannot make guarantees about how your birth will unfold. I can promise you that Body Ready Method® will help prepare your body for birth to optimize your chances of having a smooth, uneventful labor and birth.

I offer Body Ready Method® alignment and corrective sessions to my birth doula services, and they are also available to non-doula clients. Sessions are appropriate at any point during pregnancy or postpartum. During pregnancy, we work one-on-one in your home to optimize balance, strength, and resiliency in your body. I may suggest specific positions and use gentle, hands-on techniques to support alignment and create space for the physiological process of birth. In the immediate postpartum period, I can help you establish a simple, sustainable recovery protocol to encourage healing and restore function.
