Bottle Feeding, Pumping, and Lactation Product Recommendations
When looking for a bottle, look for one that passes the “Triangle Test.” The Triangle Test is a way to assess the shape of a bottle nipple for how well it matches the shape of the human breast during feeding. Bottles that pass the test promote good oral function for baby and ease in going back and forth between eating from the breast and the bottle. You can read this article about the Triangle Test to understand more.

Here is an example of a bottle that does pass the triangle test. Gulicola bottles can be purchased on Amazon.
A bottle like this does not pass the Triangle Test. It may look more like your nipple at rest, but this will not mimic the shape your nipple makes in your baby’s mouth.
As long as your bottle passes the triangle test, it does not matter which one you buy. When you introduce a bottle, ideally between 3-6 weeks of age, you should begin with a slow flow nipple to mimic the natural flow of breast milk. Here are some bottles that pass the Triangle Test.
EvenFlo Wide Neck. Can be purchased on Amazon, Target, and Walmart. These bottles are plastic.
Lansinoh Slow Flow. Can be purchased on Amazon, Target, and Walmart. These bottles are plastic.
Pigeon Slow Flow Bottle, can be purchased on Amazon. These bottles are available in glass or plastic.
Dr. Brown’s Narrow Bottle. Can be purchased on Amazon, Walgreens, or Target.

I suggest getting reusable, washable nursing pads. You will likely leak milk for some time and need protection for your clothing and surfaces around you. Reusable pads are preferred over disposable for comfortability, breathability, waste-reduction, and are more economical.
